Hello! I hope you are well.
I’ve gone outside of my crafting comfort zone for today’s card using the Gorgeously Made bundle and have tried a few techniques that my friend Gez of www.nigezza.co.uk uses for her vintage style…
I don’t think I’ve ever used so much brown ink in my life, lol! My card base is Crumb Cake card that I stamped lightly with the text stamp from Gorgeously Made and added some Crumb Cake ink with a blending brush too.
The next layer is a piece of Very Vanilla card that I stamped with one of the foliage stamps from the set with both Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie inks. I then distressed the edges of this piece with the blade of my paper snips. Again more ink was added with a blending brush and sponge daubers.
The dies in the Gorgeously Made give you a spiral bound notebook style edge and a jagged edge die too. I used both on a piece of Very Vanilla card that I then embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder. The piece I cut was too big so I tore off the right hand side and then distressed the piece even further by crumpling it a bit and of course adding some ink.
I stamped the text on another scrap of Very Vanilla card and cut it with another die from Gorgeously Made. I also stamped HELLO with Pecan Pie ink and cut trimmed that with my paper snips.
Eventually I die cut he leaves from Pecan Pie card and then embossed that with the Painted Texture 3D folder..
The finishing touches for the card front were some looped, inked and unravelled Linen Thread and a ripped and inked scrap of vellum behind the HELLO. Then I used the Bronze Stampin’ Blend to add some extra ink splatter too.
I also distressed a piece of Very Vanilla card for the inside, using stamps in the corners and of course more Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie ink added with blending brushes…
I’ll let you guess how much brown ink was on my fingers by the end of this! The process was definitely fun though, I can see how people can get engrossed in this kind of inky fun.
I hope you like today’s card and will perhaps give it a try too.
