Today’s cards are rather bright so you may want to grab your sunglasses!!
As much as I love the Like An Animal DSP I thought it might look even better with some colour added to it. I played around with Stampin’ Blends and Blending Brushes but in the end I decided the best way to get an intense colour, and the most fun technique, was to simply take my ink pads and stamp them straight onto the paper…
It did look a bit blotchy so I nearly discarded it but it looked a lot better once I dabbed off the excess ink with an old cloth and left it to fully dry. I added it to a Tahitian Tide card base and this was the final result…
I heat embossed my sentiment from the Celebrating You stamp set with gold embossing powder on Tahitian Tide card then cut it with the second smallest Deckled Rectangles die. I added a few bits of Tahitian Tide metallic woven ribbon then the sentiment on top and finally some gold sequins from the Pastel Sequins pack.
I love that although I’ve added lots of colour the metallic foil pattern on the paper still really shines through…
I like this card so much I decided to add Melon Mambo ink onto one of the silver foil designs from the Like An Animal paper pack too…
I heat embossed the same sentiment, this time with silver powder, added some silver metallic mesh ribbon and and solid faceted gems.
Which one do you prefer? I can’t decide.
