Hello, I hope you are well.
During February my friend Valerie and I have had the awesome pleasure of crafting with a whole lot of lovely ladies at our 4 in person classes. A couple of days ago I showed you the card that Valerie had designed for our classes so now it’s time to share the gift box that I demonstrated for everyone to make too…
We both used products from the Country Floral Lane suite for our projects.
Our ladies made this box with Mint Macaron, Balmy Blue or Petal Pink card and coordinating or contrasting pieces of Country Gingham designer series paper. The bike on the front of the box was cut from Country Floral Lane designer series paper with the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch. We also added a strip from the same piece of paper to the top front section of the box.
The label comes from the Pretty Pillow Box die set and the sentiment and hearts are from the Country Bouquet stamp set. We used Balmy Blue, Petal Pink and Sweet Sorbet inks to coordinate with the Country Floral Lane paper.
Finally, the box was closed with some gold or silver trim from the Simply Elegant pack.
To make this box you’ll need the following supplies:
- Card measuring 8-1/2″ x 6″
- score on the long side at 2″, 4″, 6″ and 8″
- score on the short side at 2″, 4″ and 5-1/4″
- score again on the long side at 3″ and 7″ but only from the top to the first horizontal score line
- add in diagonal score lines as shown in Photo 1 below
- Country Gingham DSP
- 4 pieces that measure 1-7/8″ x 1-7/8″
- 2 pieces that measure 1-1/8″ x 1-7?8″
- a bicycle punched from the Country Floral Lane DSP
- strip of Country Floral Lane DSP measuring 7/8″ x approx 1/2″
- Basic White card for the tag
- Ribbon, twine or trim to close the box
Here’s the photo for the diagonal score lines:
Here’s a cutting guide:
Cut along the dashed lines then decorate to look like this…
Add glue to the side panel and adhere to the back of the first panel. Then fold in and glue the base. I have a video tutorial for a similar box, just using different products from a while back if you’d like to check it out…
I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing today’s project as much as we all enjoyed making them at our classes in Newtongrange and Kelso this month.
