If you watched my recent video showing you my haul from the Stampin’ Up! OnStage convention in Vienna; then you’ll already know that I’ve got my hands on some of the products being launched in January 2023. This is one of the many perks of being an independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrator.
One of the stamp sets I received at OnStage was Beautifully Happy, which will be available as a freebie with a qualifying purchase during Sale-A-Bration 2023. We’re only going to have one Sale-A-Bration period during 2023 and it runs from 5 January to 28 February.
I couldn’t wait to play with this stamp set and here’s my first card…
I used a card base of Thick Very Vanilla card and added a layer of Copper Foil Sheet on top. I cut a layer of Very Vanilla card and heat embossed the large floral spray with Copper, before colouring it with the infill stamps from the set. I used So Saffron for the petals, Pear Pizzaz for the leaves and Mint Macaron for the buds. I love the shading you get with these stamps, no colouring skills required!
I also stamped the sentiments from the set with Versamark ink, added copper embossing powder and heat set them too. The cute wee bee is from the same stamp set too.
There is a ‘splatter’ type stamp in the set but I felt it was a bit too uniform to fill in some of the blank space so instead I tried a technique involving water! You simply use a Water Painter brush to add little droplets of water on your card and then add your embossing powder to it and heat set it as normal. I was delighted it actually works!
I inked around the edges with Sahara Sand ink and a blending brush to give it a bit of a vintage vibe. Then I added a few Rustic Metallic dots for my finishing flourish.
