Hello everyone, I hope you are well.
I’ve been using the Stars Are Shining stamp set and coordinating Starlit Punch to make some clean and simple cards. This has been a bit of a journey as I started off using the punch to do some faux embossing…
I really do love this technique! I added some adhesive sheets to a piece of Basic White card and punched lots of stars from it that I could then add to my card layer by just peeling off the backing and using them like stickers. The effect looks just like I’d used an embossing folder.
I loved the look but to be honest, adding all those stars was a bit of a faff! So I thought I’d try another approach. This time I used the collection of stars stamp with Versamark ink, added clear embossing powder and heat set it….
This is my favourite in terms of being easier to make but which one do you prefer? I’d love to know so just leave me a comment on this post.
The sentiment for all 3 cards is from the Stars Are Shining stamp set and was heat embossed in gold. I punched 2 of the largest stars from gold foil for each card, gluing one straight onto my sentiment piece and then adding the second one with mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. This whole panel was added to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The measurements for my Basic White card pieces are:
- 29 x 10.5 cm, scored & folded at 14.5 cm for the tent fold card base (Thick Basic White)
- 9.5 x 13.5 cm for the (faux) embossed layer
- 5.5 x 8 cm for the sentiment & star layer
