Hello everyone.
Today’s project is the result of a couple of ‘I wonder if…’ moments! Lol. I do tend to have a few of them but I don’t often try to see if they work or not.
The first thought was ‘I wonder if I can make a card front from vellum’ and it turns out I can…
I cut a piece of vellum to measure 14.5 x 12 cm and scored the short side at 1.5 cm to create a tab to attach to the card back. I then embossed the vellum with the Scripty 3D embossing folder (I made sure that the 1.5 cm tab wasn’t sandwiched between the plates of my machine so that part didn’t get embossed – that made it easier to glue later.)
I cut a piece of Whisper White card and Cherry Cobbler card to each measure 14.5 x 10.5 cm for the card back. I sandwiched the vellum between the Whisper White can Cherry Cobbler card pieces.
The second thought I had was ‘I wonder if I can gold heat emboss on top of white heat embossing’ and that worked too…
I stamped the text from Very Versailles with Versamark ink onto Cherry Cobbler card, added white Stampin’ Emboss powder and heat set it. I then added the leafy stamp with Versamark on top, added gold Stampin’ Emboss powder and heat set again. I’m quite pleased with the results.
I cut the heat embossed card with a Stitched Nested Label die and glued it to the vellum front. I stamped the sentiment with Cherry Cobbler ink onto Whisper White card and cut that with a label die too. I added that to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I also added a few Gilded Gems for extra bling.
To disguise the glue that I added the larger label with, I cut a smaller one from Whisper White card and attached that to the other side of the vellum…
My final ‘I wonder’ thought on this card was actually part way through making it. I wondered if it would stand up and it did!! Yippee!
So now we know and I can stop wondering!
