Hello everyone.
Lovely Lipstick is one of the Stampin’ Up! 2018-2020 In Colors that will be retiring on 2 June 2020. I for one will be sad to see this bold colour go so I just had to use it for this card with the Dressed To Impress bundle…
This card has this little surprise inside…
I’ve seen this type of card before as a flower pot card, but this is just a different twist on the same idea. To make the mechanism of the card I used a tutorial from Frenchie Stamps, you can check it out by clicking here.
All the patterned papers I used come from the Best Dressed 6″ x 6″ pack.
The perfume bottles and lipsticks from the Dressed To Impress stamp set were stamped with Versamark ink, sprinkled with Gold Stampin’ Emboss powder then heat set. They were then cut with the All Dressed Up Dies. I used Stampin’ Blends to colour the lipsticks but watercolored the perfume bottles.
The sentiment on the front of the card was stamped in Lovely Lipstick ink onto Whisper White card and cut with one of the ovals from the Stitched Shapes dies. I also cut a larger oval from Lovely Lipstick card.
I also used the ovals for the Kindness sentiment for the inside but this time stamped with Petal Pink ink.
The Hello Fabulous was stamped with Lovely Lipstick ink and cut with a die from All Dressed Up.
Once I’d mastered the technique I made another version for my best friend’s birthday and I’m sure she won’t mind that I share it with you now…
I used a few well loved and treasured retired products for Grace’s card. I just wanted to show you that the same technique can produce some very different cards, especially if you turn the card from portrait to landscape. I hope you’ll give this style of card a try too.
I’ve listed the products used for my Lovely Lipstick card below. You can click on any of the links to visit my online Stampin’ Up! shop. The Dressed to Impress stamps and All Dressed Up Dies are currently available as a ‘bundle’ which saves you 10% so I’ve shown both options in the product list.
