Dino Days birthday card

Hello.

Today I’d like to share with you the birthday card I made for my best friend’s grandson. Like most 3 year old boys he likes dinosaurs, so Dino Days was the perfect stamp set for the job….

With such a fun stamp set I had to use bright colours so I chose Mango Melody for my card base. This measures 21 x 14.5 cm, scored and folded on the long side at 10.5 cm. I added a piece of Whisper White to the front of the card measuring 10 x 14 cm.

I cut a piece of the Dinoroar designer series paper to measure 10 x 5 cm and a piece of Poppy Parade card to measure 10 x 5.5 cm and added them to my card base.

I stamped a few of the dinosaurs in a variety of colours and cut them out to add to the front and inside of my card. Some were added with Stampin’ Dimensionals to give a bit of height.

I masked the ‘look who’s hatched’ stamp to only add Poppy Parade ink to the first 2 words and stamped this on Whisper White card. I cut this with the Classic Label punch. I used the same punch on Poppy Parade card, cut it in half and added the pieces to the back of the stamped one then added this to the card.

I stamped the number 3 from the Family Party stamp set with Poppy Parade ink onto Whisper White card and cut it with the smaller part of the Balloon Bouquet punch. I cut 2 more balloons from Pacific Point and Mango Melody card. I added some Silver Metallic thread to each balloon so that one of the dinosaurs could hold them (with the help of a mini glue dot!)

I cut another piece of Whisper White card to measure 10 x 14 cm for the inside and stamped my sentiment with Poppy Parade ink, added parts of more dinosaurs and trimmed off the excess before adding this layer inside…

I had lots of fun creating these colourful creatures! I hope my little buddy likes his card as much as I liked making it for him.
