Hello.
Yesterday my friend Valerie (www.valerieshandmadegifts.co.uk) and I hosted our monthly papercraft workshop in the Scottish Borders; which is always lots of fun as we have a fabulous group of crafters that join us. This month, Valerie did tons of preparation so that we could all make a Traveller’s Notebook, based on a design by Ann Melvin of Positively Papercraft, with a few changes.
We all used various designs from the stunning Golden Honey speciality designer series paper that is currently available FREE with a qualifying spend during Sale-A-Bration.
I had to finish my version off today and here it is…
We added a section with an envelope and pocket to the inside of the front cover, which will be very handy…
I decorated the front of this piece with lots of little bees cut from the Golden Honey speciality designer series paper and a hive stamped with Daffodil Delight ink onto Whisper White card. The stamp comes from the Honey Bee set and the hive was cut with the corresponding die from the Detailed Bee Dies pack. These dies and the stamp set can be purchased as a bundle, that gives you a 10% saving on the cost of buying them separately. Add in a pack of card and you’d then earn the Golden Honey paper for free.
We inserted 4 different covered notebooks that simply slip over the elastics, so can be replaced when necessary. We also glued a large envelope, made to fit, to the inside of the rear cover…
Once again I used bees and die cuts to decorate my envelope. My final touch was to add some ribbons (retired – oops!) and trinkets to a ring attached to the cover and Valerie kindly gave me a sparkly pen to complete the look.
This was such a fun project and all of our crafters went home with a very useful project to take on their travels – wherever they may roam!
I have listed the Stampin’ Up! products used for this project below and I’ve suggested ribbons that would coordinate instead of my retired ones. You can click on any of the links to visit my online Stampin’ Up! shop.
