Hello everyone.
The lovely Tricia Smith has set us yet another challenge in her ‘Crafty Stamping Club – Smiths Crafty Creations’ Facebook Group. This time she’s invited us to create our very own designer series paper.
Here’s what I stamped…
…and I didn’t even use all of my green ink pads, lol.
I cut a piece of Very Vanilla A4 card in half and just randomly stamped the various leaves stamps from Rooted In Nature in a selection of green inks.
I then trimmed this down to 2 pieces measuring 13.5 x 9.5 cm to use as card fronts. Here’s the first one…
I kept this one simple as seems appropriate for a ‘thinking of you’ card. I made my card base from Very Vanilla card measuring 21 x 14.5 cm, scored and folded on the long side to make a landscape tent fold. I then added a piece of Call Me Clover card measuring 10 x 14 cm and then my piece of stamped card.
I stamped the sentiment from Rooted In Nature in Call Me Clover ink onto Very Vanilla card and cut it with one of the Stitched So Sweetly dies. I added a piece of Burlap Ribbon across the middle of the card and then added the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a few of the Happiness Blooms enamel dots too.
Here’s the second card I made…
As this is a more upbeat sentiment I chose Granny Apple Green card and ink, along with Glitter Enamel dots.
This time my card base is Very Vanilla measuring 29 x 10.5cm, scored and folded on the long side at 14.5 cm to create a portrait tent fold.
I added my Granny Apple Green layer (10 x 14 cm) and then my stamped layer. I stamped the sentiment in Granny Apple Green ink onto Very Vanilla card and cut it with a Stitched So Sweetly die. I used a larger die on Granny Apple Green card.
I then cut 3 sets of leaves from Granny Apple Green card and a further 3 from Very Vanilla card using my Leaf Punch. If you look closely you might notice that I scored a line down the middle of each leaf to help fold them a little and give them a bit more dimension. I arranged them into 2 sets of 3.
I glued the green label to the centre of my card and then added the stamped one at an angle with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I tucked the ends of the sprigs of leaves under the stamped label. My final touch was those glitter enamel dots I mentioned earlier.
For both cards I added additional panels inside of green (10 x 14cm ) and vanilla (9.5 x 13.5 cm)
I like how you can get 2 quite different cards from the same paper and stamp set. I hope this has inspired you to have a go at creating your very own ‘designer series paper’. If so, please join in with Tricia’s challenge and let us see it.
I’ve listed the products I’ve used in both cards below. You can click on any of the links to visit my online Stampin’ Up! shop. I would be delighted to be your chosen independent demonstrator.
Happy crafting,
Heather x
