Hello and thanks for visiting.
Today’s project was inspired by the birthday card I made for the InspireInk Blog Hop on Saturday. I had so much fun heat embossing and watercoloring that I didn’t want to stop, so I made this little gift box…
It’s the perfect size for this lovely chunky Cath Kidston pen…
And it looks really nice with the pop up birthday card…
I made the box from Whisper White Thick card that measures 8″ x 3-1/2″, scored on the long side at 3/4″, 1-1/2″, 2-1/4″ and 3″. Score on the short side at 3/4″, 6-3/4″ and 7-1/2″.
I did all of my stamping and colouring before I folded any of the score lines, using the same technique as described in yesterday’s post, and then did my cutting as shown below…
I then folded the score lines gently so as not to crack the embossing. I added glue to the skinny long panel and adhered it to the back of the first panel. I then folded in and glued the bottom tabs in the order of side, side, back then front.
I stamped my sentiment ‘for you’ from the Beauty Abounds stamp set in Versamark ink onto Whisper White card, sprinkled it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss powder then heat set it. Once cooled I cut it with one of the Stitched So Sweetly dies and glued it to the middle of the front of my box.
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s project as much I did making it. Now I really must put the Dressed To Impress stamp set down for a little while, lol.
I’ve listed the products I’ve used for today’s box below. You can click on any of the links to visit my online Stampin’ Up! shop.
Happy crafting,
Heather x
