Hello.
When I was young I remember going to the local shop to get a ‘mixture’ of sweets in a paper bag and that memory was the inspiration for today’s project…
I made this candy striped bag to fit 2 rolls of Love Hearts sweets. These sweets bring back fond memories too.
I used a piece of Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper that measures 6″ x 8″, scored on the short side at 1-3/4″ and 4-1/4″ and scored on the long side at 3/4″
I cut off the 2 small outer panels at the bottom of the bag and wedged the middle one as shown below…
Simply glue the long edges together and then glue the flap on top, just like the paper bags I used to get my sweets in…
To decorate the top of my bag I stamped the sentiment from the So Sentimental set in Calypso Coral ink onto Whisper White card. I cut this with one of the Stitched So Sweetly dies. I used the same die on Calypso Coral die, cut the label in half and added to the back of the stamped one. I used one of the rectangle dies from the same set with Daffodil Delight card and folded it in half then added the stamped label.
I used a glue dot to hold the top of the bag closed from the inside and then glued the topper either side of the fold line and added it to the bag. Nice and easy!
My final touch was to tie some of the lovely Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon around the centre of the bag.
I think this would be a sweet little Valentine’s Day gift, even although there’s no red hearts in sight. What do you think?
I’ve listed the products I’ve used in today’s project below. As with yesterday’s card, I’ve used a stamp set and dies that can be bought as a bundle, which saves you 10%.
I would love to be your chosen independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrator.
Happy crafting,
Heather x
