Hello.
I had my last Christmas fair yesterday and I will soon be clearing away my Christmas crafting products so that I can concentrate on decorating my home for the festive season. It’s nearly time for me to deck the halls…
To celebrate I took a bit of time today to craft just for fun. It’s been a while since I had this luxury, or the energy, as it’s been a busy time recently.
I decided to use the holly stamp from Christmas Gleaming for the background for my card. I used Garden Green ink onto a piece of Whisper White card measuring 9.5 x 13.5 cm. I then used my Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends to colour the leaves and berries. I added some Wink of Stella to the berries too.
I wasn’t entirely happy with this and thought it needed a bit more dimension. So I stamped some more holly, coloured it and then fussy cut it out to add to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I cut off the excess so that it didn’t hang over the edge of my card. I only did a few bits like this so that there’s a mix of flat and popped up sections.
My card base is Whisper White Thick card measuring 14.5 x 21 cm, scored and folded on the long side at 10.5 cm. I added a piece of Cherry Cobbler card measuring 10 x 14 cm to my card base.
Before adding the stamped piece I wrapped some Cherry Cobbler diagonal striped ribbon around it, securing the ends on the back.
I stamped the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink onto Whisper White card and cut it with my 2 inch circle punch. I cut a piece of Cherry Cobbler card with my Starburst punch and glued them together. I added this to my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals too and added some Holiday Rhinestones…
I really enjoyed taking the time to stamp and colour this card. It was really therapeutic. I hope you like the end result.
