Hello.
I was lucky enough to have a stall at a craft fair last weekend that was right next to the lovely lady from www.bordercandlesandaromatics.co.uk
The smell was absolutely amazing!
Needless to say I had to buy some of her lovely candles. I gifted a gingerbread candle to a friend but also bought a pack of 6 Cinnamon & Apple tea light candles that are making me crave apple pie!
The tea lights came in a clear box so I thought it would be fun to make a gift box for them and here it is…
I used a piece of Cherry Cobbler card that measures 6 & 7/8 inches by 9 & 1/2 inches. On the long side I scored at 1 inch, 4 & 1/4 inches, 5 & 1/4 inches and 8 &1/2 inches. On the short side 1 scored at 1 inch and 6 & 7/8 inches.
I cut straight up the score lines of the rectangles along the long sides and wedged the squares to form tabs. I glued four tabs to form the base of the box, popped in my candles and then formed the lid by gluing the remaining two tabs while the lid was closed so i got a neat fit.
To decorate the box I created a belly band of Wrapped In Plaid speciality designer series paper. I cut a piece of the 6 x 6 inch paper in half and glued the ends together. I wrapped this around my box ensuring that the join was at the back and then trimmed off the excess to create another join on the bottom of the box.
I stamped Season’s Greetings from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set in Cherry Cobbler ink onto Whisper White card and cut it with the oval die from the Detailed Bands set of dies.
I also cut the beautifully ornate flourish die from Champagne Foil sheet and trimmed off the bands at each end. I added the stamped oval in the middle and then added the foil to the belly band. Just make sure you don’t add glue to the ends that overhang the band.
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s box. I’ve listed the products I’ve used below and you can click on any of them to start shopping. I would be delighted to be your independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrator.
Happy crafting,
Heather x
