Hello and thanks for joining me today.
Today’s project was inspired my a swap I received at a Stampin’ Up! event, but unfortunately I don’t have the details of who made it so I can’t thank them for their idea and I can’t even remember when I received it. My memory really isn’t what it used to be, lol.
I used the super cute Let It Snow speciality designer series paper to make a Christmas version of their gift card holder…
The belly band slides down so you can lift up the top section to reveal the inside…
The insert pops up a little bit, which you can see better with a side view…
And the best thing of all is that this will fit into a standard C6 envelope ready to post or to conceal it until Christmas Day.
I used Real Red card for my base and insert. The main part measures 4 & 1/8 inches by 11 & 1/2 inches – this is scored at 2 inches and at 7 & 3/4 inches.
The insert measures 7 & 1/2 inches by 3 & 1/2 inches and is scored at 1/2 inch and at 5 inches.
The belly band measures 3/4 of an inch by 9 inches and I used Basic Black card for this.
The pieces of designer series paper for the front measure 3 & 7/8 inches by 3 & 1/2 inches for the top part and 3 & 7/8 inches by 1 & 3/4 inches for the bottom part.
Construction is really straight forward. Glue the 1/2 section of the insert to the top of the main piece with the edge lined up to the score line. I used my 2 inch circle punch to create a cut out on the bottom edge of the insert and then glued the 2 sides to the back to form the pocket. Nothing else needs glued, the belly band keeps it closed instead.
So simple but really effective.
All of the stamps I used come from the Snowman Season stamp set. I stamped the Merry Christmas on the belly band in Versamark ink, added White Stampin’ Emboss powder and heat set it.
The To & From and the sentiment inside are stamped in Memento ink.
