If you’ve read many of my blog posts you’ll know that I really like being creatively challenged and participate in sketch and colour challenges in a couple of different Facebook groups. Sometimes there are not enough hours in the week to take part in all of the challenges I’d like and so today’s card fits the brief for two in one!

And Patricia Smith challenged us to create a Fancy Fold card this week in her ‘Crafty Stamping Club – Smiths Crafty Creations’ group. So I created my slider card. You simply pull the string at the top to reveal the message inside…
I used Rococo Rose for my card base and some Rococo Rose designer series paper for the top sliding part. I stamped in the paw prints and the revealed sentiment Balmy Blue ink and my dog was stamped in Smoky Slate ink onto Smoky Slate card and cut with the Dog Builder punch.
I stamped Friends Forever in Rococo Rose ink onto Whisper White card and cut it with a Stitched Rectangle die.
I’d never made one of these types of cards before and came across this helpful video on YouTube that I used as my guide, but changed the decorations to suit…
The partial die cutting method with the Stitched Rectangle dies makes this so much easier than you might think. I hope you’ll give it a go and step out of your creative comfort zone too.
