Hello and thanks for popping in.
I’ve done a couple of sketch challenges recently but it feels like years since I did one of Amanda Charlesworth’s colour challenges! Lol. Amanda (aka Srimping Mommy) has a Facebook Group set up called Stampin’ For All and sets various challenges, along with her design team, each week. During the summer months, Amanda is setting a colour challenge on a Wednesday and Ian is setting a sketch challenge on a Monday. Why not join in the fun? The more the merrier as we can all take inspiration from each other.
On Wednesday these were Amanda’s colours…
This suggested a masculine card to me and that led me to pick up the A Good Man stamp set and create this card…
I started with a Balmy Blue card base measuring 21 x 14.5 cm, scored and folded on the long side at 10.5 cm. I added a layer of Night of Navy card measuring 10 x 14cm and a layer of Soft Suede card measuring 9.5 x 13.5cm.
I cut 2 pieces of Whisper White card to measure 8.5 x 12.5 cm for the front and 10 x 14 cm for the inside.
I stamped the man and child image in Night of Navy ink onto the smaller piece of Whisper White card and used my Stampin’ Blends to colour it. I don’t have the Blends in Balmy Blue so I used my Stampin’ Write marker for the child’s shirt instead. I just used light strokes to try to get the shading you can normally achieve so much more easily with the Blends.
For the sentiment I used my Stampin’ Write markers in both Balmy Blue and Night of Navy – this is when these pens really come into their own. As they use the same ink as the Stampin’ Up! ink pads you can colour stamps with them and just stamp as normal – great fun.
I stamped the panel for the inside too…
I used Night of Navy and Soft Suede inks for the inside.
I hope you like today’s card and will pop over to Stampin’ For All on Facebook to either join in or get some more inspiration.
I’ve listed the products I used in today’s project below. You can click on any of the links to visit my friend Valerie’s shop to purchase any of them.
Happy crafting,
