Hello!
Today’s project is a box made to fit a big bar of Milka chocolate as part of a birthday gift…
My bar of chocolate measured roughly 7 & 1/2 inches by 3 inches so I cut a piece of Gorgeous Grape card to measure 7 & 1/2 inches by 9 & 1/2 inches. I scored this on the long side at 1/2 inch, 1 inch, 8 & 1/2 inches and 9 inches. I then scored on the shorter side at 3 inches, 3 & 1/2 inches, 6 & 1/2 inches and 7 inches.
Burnish your score lines and then follow this cutting pattern…
I also cut a piece of Highland Heather card to measure 7 & 1/4 inches by 2 & 3/4 inches and then ran it through my Big Shot in my Country Floral 3D embossing folder. As the card is long than the folder I had to do this part twice – there is a join that you might see now you know to look for it! Lol.
I added this to the top of the box (the bit that still has the flaps at the ends) and then glued the tab on the right to the bottom of the box. The tabs at the ends simply fold in to close the box.
I stamped the Happy Birthday image from the Label Me Pretty stamp set using Gorgeous Grape ink onto Whisper White card and cut it with the Pretty Label punch. I used Watercolor pencils and a blender pen to colour the image.
I tied the box with Polka Dot ribbon tied in a double knot at one end. I added the label over the ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Finally I added some Gingham Gala sequins.
I think this would make a nice little birthday treat on it’s own but you could also pop in a gift card too for a more generous present.
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s project. If you’d like to buy any of the Stampin’ Up! products used you can click on any of the links shown below to visit my friend Valerie’s online shop.
Happy crafting,
Heather x
