Hello and thanks for visiting.
This is the time of year that I get to stock up on my beloved scented hand gels from Bath & Body Works (we don’t get them in the UK but I’m currently in Canada – yippee!!). Last year I made a little gift box for one using the envelope punch board. As Stampin’ Up! no longer sell an envelope punch board I thought maybe I should try a different design for this year’s gifts and here’s the result…
I’ve used the gorgeous new 2019-2021 In Color Terracotta Tile card for the box along with some of the 2019-2021 In Color 6 x 6 inch designer series paper.
The card for the box measures 6 & 1/2 inches by 5 & 1/2 inches. On the long side score at 2 inches, 3 inches, 5 inches and 6 inches. On the short side score at 1 inch, 4 inches and 5 inches. Fold and burnish your score lines and follow the following template to cut out the sections you don’t need and wedge the square tabs for a neater fold. I also rounded the corners on the flap for the lid of the box to make it easier to close…
I then added panels of designers series paper (DSP). The front and back panels measure 2 & 7/8 inches by 1 & 7/8 inches. The side panels measure 7/8ths of an inch by 2 & 7/8 inches. The panel for the lid measures 7/8ths of an inch by 1 & 7/8 inches.
Once I’d added my DSP I used my 1/2 inch circle punch to create a notch at the top of the front panel to make it easier to open the lid. Glue the side tab to the inside of the back panel and fold in the 2 side tabs at the base, then the back one and finally the front one – I glue each bit to the next so that the box has a sturdy base. The box is ready for your hand gel now.
To decorate the box I stamped the For & You stamps from the Well Said stamp set in Terracotta Tile ink onto Whisper White card. I cut this using a Layering Circles die. I used a larger die to cut the scalloped circle from Terracotta Tile card and glued this to the back of the stamped circle.
I wrapped some of the Polka Dot Tulle ribbon around the middle of the box and tied it at the top with some Whisper White Baker’s twine in a bow. I then added the circles to the front of the box with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this little project today. Hopefully I can get well stocked up and be able to gift a few extras in these pretty boxes.
I’ve listed the products used in today’s project below. You can click on any of the links to visit my friend Valerie’s online Stampin’ Up! store if you’d like to buy any of them.
Happy crafting,
