Hello.
Today’s project is one of those that just kind of evolved without any planning other than I decided that I hadn’t used the Botanical Tags for far too long.
I did think about making some tags but that seemed a bit too obvious and I suddenly thought that the die with the birds and branches would look nice on the sides of a box so here’s what I created…
I started off with a piece of Night Of Navy card measuring 4 & 1/2 inches by 8 & 1/4 inches. I scored on the long side at 2, 4, 6 and 8 inches and then on the short side at 2 inches. I then ran it through my Big Shot to die cut the top 4 panels like this…
I trimmed the panel at the side to be used to glue the box together later. I cut a piece of Vellum to measure 8 & 1/4 inches by 3 inches and gently scored this with my trimmer at 2, 4, 6 and 8 inches. I gently folded the score lines and then glued this to the back of the die cut sections…
You can then make up your box as normal by glueing the side panel and then the base panels.
I used a piece of Night of Navy card measuring 3 & 1/16th inches square to make the lid. This is scored at 1/2 inch on each side.
I stamped the sentiment from the Botanical Bliss stamp set in Night of Navy ink onto Whisper White card and cut it using the 2nd smallest oval from Stitched Shape framelits dies. I used by 1/8th inch circle punch to create a hole that I could thread through some Night Of Navy bakers twine. I tied the box with some Whisper White Polka Dot ribbon and added the tag to it.
You can fit a Yankee votive candle inside this box or you could fill it with sweeties to make a nice little gift.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this little box. I’ve listed all of the products I’ve used in today’s project below. You can click on any of them to visit my online Stampin’ Up! shop at any time. I’d be delighted to be your independent demonstrator.
The Botanical Bliss stamp set and the the Botanical Tags thinlits dies are available to purchase as a bundle and you can save 10% on the price of buying them separately. I’ve shown both options in my product list.
Happy crafting,
Heather x
