Hello!
Today I want to show you a sketch book I made for myself. I like to draw card and box ideas every now and again but if I do it on a scrap of paper I lose it! All of my notebooks are lined so aren’t that great for drawing in so I found a plain A5 pad and decorated it…
I cut a piece of Tranquil Textures designer series paper to measure 5 & 7/8 by 8 & 1/4 inches to cover the front of the pad. I also cut a piece of Tranquil Tide card to measure 5 & 7/8 by 1 & 3/4 inches and scored this along the short edge at 3/4 inch and 1 inch to create a binding for the top of the pad. I also added a strip of card to the inside of the DSP covering the pad to reinforce it, this measured 5 & 7/8ths x 3/4 inches.
As I want keep to my drawings I used my Crop-a-dile to punch holes through the pad and then threaded through some Nature’s Twine and tied it in a knot to make sure the pages don’t fall out. This punch isn’t a Stampin’ Up! product but it’s amazing how much paper you can punch with it so I love using it.
I then decorated the front of my sketch pad…
I stamped the pens from Crafting Forever in Tranquil Tide ink onto Whisper White card and used a Rectangle Stitched framelit to cut it. I used 2 of the framelits to create this double stitched frame from Tranquil Tide card. How fabulous does this look? I love it!
I also stamped ‘Crafting Forever, housework whenever’ in Tranquil Tide ink onto Whisper White card and cut this with one of the square Stitched Shapes framelits and then backed this with Tranquil Tide card trimmed to fit.
I hope you’ve liked today’s project, as much as I love this crafting sentiment! Lol.
I’ve listed the products used below and you can click on any of them to visit my online Stampin’ Up! shop at any time.
