Hello & thanks for joining me. Today I’d like to share a card I made for a sketch challenge over in The Joy Of Sets Facebook Group. Firstly, here’s the sketch…
This is quite a nice Clean And Simple (CAS) sketch but I decided to make it even more CAS by going black and white…
The sketch has a contrasting diagonal panel at the bottom and my card does too but it’s rather subtle. I cut my top panel of Whisper White card to 9.5 x 13.5 cm and then cut it across the diagonal. I then used the Dot to Dot embossing folder but did the top panel in one direction and the bottom one the other direction to give me the contrast.
My card base is my normal Whisper White thick card measuring 29 x 10.5 cm , scored and folded at 14.5 cm to create a portrait tent fold card. I added a layer of Basic Black card measuring 10 x 14 cm before added my 2 embossed pieces. In hindsight I should have added some white paper on the back to join the 2 panels as this would prevent you seeing through to the black layer where the embossing leaves tiny gaps!
I die cut the ‘amazing’ and ‘you’ from Basic Black card using the Celebrate You thinlits. The heart is from the Dog Builder punch and I added some black sequins from the Metallics Sequins Assortment.
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s card and will be tempted to make a card with the same sketch layout. If you do, come and join us at Joy Of Sets and share it with us. To join in with the challenge you don’t need to use Stampin’ Up! products.
If you would like to buy any of the Stampin’ Up! products I’ve used in today’s project they are listed below. You can click on any of them to visit my online Stampin’ Up! shop. I’d be honoured to be your independent demonstrator.
Happy crafting,
Heather x
