Happy Boxing Day! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas. I still feel full from our Christmas lunch but that’s not going to stop me treating myself with some of the fabulous chocolates I received as delicious gifts.
As it’s Boxing Day I’ve escaped to my craft room to create this box, for even more chocolate goodies…
I started with a piece of Mint Macaron card measuring 8 & 1/4 by 5 & 1/2 inches. I scored this on the long side at
- 1/2 inch
- 1 & 3/4 inches
- 6 & 1/2 inches
- 7 & 3/4 inches
I scored on the short side at
- 1 & 1/4 inches
- 2 & 1/2 inches
- 3 & 3/4 inches
- 5 inches
I cut 4 strips of Nature’s Poem designer series paper measuring 3 & 1/2 inches by 1 inch.
You can use the following photo as your cutting guide..
You’ll see that in the section closest to the skinny panel I left the 1/2 inch tabs and rounded their corners. I chopped some of the next panels down to just under 1/2 and removed 2 completely. I also wedged the tabs that were cut in half to help the box close more easily. To help open the lid I used my 1/2 inch circle punch to take a semi-circle notch out. Once the box is glued together with Tear & Tape it can be left folded flat until you need it…
The decoration is very simple. I stamped the Just For You stamp from Rooted In Nature in Mint Macaron ink onto Whisper White card and used my smallest Layering Circle framelit to cut it out. I also cut Mint Macaron card with the smallest scalloped circle from the same dies. I added the stamped circle to the Mint Macaron one with a dimensional then added both to the front of the box and added a bow of Mint Macaron twine from the set of 4 reels of Nature’s Twine that is such fabulous value for money with a mini glue dot.
The set of 3 chocolates is a very neat fit!
