Hello and thank you for joining me today.
Today’s project is a Thank You card that uses up some Christmas designer series paper but doesn’t look Christmassy at all.
I’ve used some of the All Is Bright designer series paper that is currently discounted so you can stock up for next year’s Christmas cards but also use some of the less Christmassy papers for your thank you cards straight away.
My card base is Very Vanilla card that measures 19 x 10.5 cm, scored and folded at 14.5 cm to create a portrait tent fold card. I’ve added a piece of the DSP that measures 10 x 14 cm and then another design that measures 9 x 13 cm.
To brighten up the natural papers I’ve used some of the Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper. I added a strip of Tranquil Tide across the card and some Copper using the Leaf Punch. I also used Tranquil Tide card with my Sprig Punch.
I’ve stamped in Versamark onto Very Vanilla card using stamps from A Big Thank You, added Copper Stampin’ Emboss powder and heat set it. I cut this with my 2 inch circle punch then added some flowers from the same stamp set in Tranquil Tide ink. The circle was added to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals
I then decided to make a similar card but reversed the layers of DSP and used less glimmer for a more natural look…
I changed to Crumb Cake card for my card base and the sprig punch. I also added a 1.5 cm thick strip of card and then added some Burlap ribbon to the strip. Instead of the circle punch I used the Pretty Label punch for the sentiment and added some stars from the Festive Farmhouse Elements. I used the reverse side of the elements as this is a more natural wood colour to fit in with the rest of the card.
I hope you like both of these versions. It just goes to show that with a few changes you can get a very different look…
