Today’s project is one I’ve had in mind for ages but just hadn’t gotten round to, until now!
The Stampin’ Up Time for Tea stamp set and Spot of Tea framelits seemed like such an obvious choice for a tea bag gift that I had to give it a go….
This would be a cute little gift when meeting friends for a cuppa and a catch up!
I normally use my envelope punch board for tea bag holders but this one is even easier to make. My tea bag is roughly 2.5 x 3 inches so I cut a piece of Very Vanilla card to measure 9 x 3.5 inches. I scored on the long side at 3.5 and 7 inches.
I stamped the first 3.5 inch section with versamark using one of the floral stamps from the Time for Tea set. I then sprinkled it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss powder and heat set it. This will be the front of your holder. On the opposite side I stamped the sentiment shown below…
I added tear & tape to the sides of the 2 inch section and folded this up. Tip: put your tea bag in place when you do this part so that you make sure it fits. It will bow a little to cope with the bulk of the tea bag.
My belly band measures 8 x 1/2 inch. I stamped the cup and saucer onto a scrap of Very Vanilla card, again using versamark ink and embossing powder which was heat set. This was cut out using the coordinating framelit and glued onto the belly band.
I don’t tend to score my belly bands but just gently fold them round in place, so that they’re not too tight a fit and in this case, copes with the bulk of the tea bag.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this project and my little tips. I’ve listed the products I’ve used below. If you buy the stamp set and the framelits dies as a bundle you save 10% compared to buying them separately.
